Graduate College Awards Ceremony

Certificates, handshakes, and smiles filled the Student Union Council Room this week as we held the 2019 Graduate College & GPSGA Awards Ceremony. Awards including the Phoenix Award, Robberson Dissertation Fellowship, Graduate Research Excellence Award and the 3MC People’s Choice Award were given out to students, faculty, and staff throughout the afternoon.

GSSI Waiver

If you will be employed in a 50% FTE assistantship this semester, you must submit your electronic Summer 2019 GSSI tuition waiver contract by May 24th, 2019. Forms submitted after the first Friday of the semester jeopardize tuition benefits.

REU Program Looks To Bring Students

The Oklahoma State University Physics Research Experience for Undergrads (REU) Program is in the business of making new Cowboys.

If you need proof, just look at Calvin Ainsworth and Jacob Crosby – two of seven students who came to Stillwater last year to be apart of the program – who will be starting class at OSU in the fall.

Online GRAD 5193: Preparing Publishable Manuscripts Applications Open

This summer, the Grad College, in partnership with the English Department and the Office of Research, will offer “GRAD5193: Preparing Publishable Manuscripts.”

The 8-week, three-credit hour course will be taught by Dr. Stephanie Link as part of the Trailblazer program and enrollment is by instructor permission.

Students interested in receiving a framework for research writing and publishing that they can further employ to advance within their fields of scholarship should watch this video and fill out this form before May 10 to be considered.

Faculty research advisors will be asked to confirm students’ eligibility.

Students planning to walk in the Spring 2019 Commencement Ceremony should review the Graduate Commencement page. It has helpful information regarding the ceremony, including about where to obtain your cap and gown, how to wear your regalia, and what time you need to be at Gallagher Iba Arena in order to participate in the commencement ceremony.

Students planning to graduate in Spring 2019 should also review the Graduation Checklist.

2019 Dr. Debbie Blanke Scholarship

Deadline: Tomorrow, April 30

This scholarship was established by the Oklahoma Women in Higher Education (OKWHE) Board in 2014 and is open to individuals enrolled as a graduate student in a higher education related degree program and who have attended at least one OKWHE conference. Preference for the scholarship is given to applicants who have earned at least 12 credit hours towards a graduate degree, worked at least three years in a higher education institution, and intend to pursue a career in higher education.
