Important: Graduation Check for Expected Fall Graduates

Students planning on graduating this December must review the Graduation Checklist and the Graduate College Academic Calendar for important deadlines. In order for degrees to be awarded, students must meet enrollment requirements, have a final approved Plan of Study, approved graduation clearance, active graduation application and have successfully completed all the required coursework. Revised Plans of Study and Graduation Clearance Forms need to be submitted and approved by Committee and Graduate College in order to apply to graduate
All graduate students who intend to complete a thesis or dissertation are required to attend a Thesis/Dissertation Workshop Presentation (or watch the online video) prior to graduation. We highly recommend that students who do not intend to complete a thesis or dissertation watch the “Non-Thesis” Webinar. Effective Fall 2017, thesis and dissertation titles will be printed on official OSU transcripts. Therefore, any student intending to complete a thesis or dissertation is required to enter their title on their Graduation Clearance form. If unable to do so, please email the title to as soon as possible. In addition, please submit your Oral Defense Results to the Graduate College by November 22nd in order to meet the Priority Deadline. Furthermore, signature approval pages must be submitted before thesis or dissertation documents can be reviewed and approved. 
Attention: Prospective Doctoral Candidates:
Expected Spring Graduates Must Submit Approved Admission to Doctoral Candidacy Forms to Graduate College by November 10th. 
Withdrawal Deadline Reminder: 
Please remember that the deadline for dropping a Fall 2017 full-semester course with an automatic grade of “W” is Friday, November 10th. After that date, courses may only be dropped by petition with documented extenuating circumstances. Students that withdraw from all courses must complete a withdrawal request form. Keep in mind, students that withdraw from courses after the refund deadlines are responsible for the full amount of tuition and fees.
