Minutes to Die

Dr. Lyndi Gilliam was recently flown to San Francisco to attend a premier showing of "Minutes to Die," a documentary produced to raise awareness about snakebite around the world.

The documentary was part of discussions with the World Health Organization to get snakebite on the list of Neglected Tropical Diseases.

Gilliam has been researching the effects of snakebites in horses for years. She is currently performing research for Ophirex. Their CEO, Dr. Matthew Lewin, is featured in the film and is pictured with Dr. Gilliam above.

Also featured in the film is Jose Gutierrez, PhD. He earned his PhD at Oklahoma State University under the tutelage of Dr. Charlotte Ownby, professor emerita. Gutierrez was Ownby's first PhD student and Gilliam was her last.
