Pushpinder Litt

Pushpinder Litt is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Food Science at Oklahoma State University.

Her research evaluates novel bacteriophages for disruption of biofilms produced by shiga-toxigenic Escherichia coli on food-contact surfaces and leafy greens. Her research addresses a significant problem in the food industry and would benefit stakeholders at the state, national or international levels. It would provide a more efficient, cost-effective and natural solution to the ever increasing problem of food-borne illness outbreaks and recalls in the United States and other parts of the world.

"OSU offers one of the best food safety programs under the supervision of Dr. Divya Jaroni. I found OSU staff before joining the university very friendly and helpful. I knew right away after talking to my current advisor and communicating with graduate office staff, that it would be a great fit," Litt said. "I had a great time at OSU. I love football season 'Go Pokes.' OSU has became a second home to me away from my home sweet home. Professors are inspiring, encouraging and supportive. I have learned a lot; it is good to have an advisor who recognizes your strengths and weaknesses and works with you on them to improve. It has been a great learning experience."
