Pack the House

You won't want to miss the 3MP Finals on February 20th at 3:30 PM in the Student Union Little Theatre. Audience members will have a chance to win $2,000 for professional development activities for their graduate program or department, and graduate students will have a chance to win $500 in travel funds. (Must be present and show ID to win).

Graduate College Quick Tip

As a reminder, an original plan of study must be submitted to the Graduate College by the end of the second semester for Master’s students, and by the end of the third semester for Doctoral students.

If a student does not submit their original plan of study on time, a hold will be placed on their account blocking future enrollment until a plan of study is submitted and approved by their advisor.

Important Dates & Deadlines

Friday, March 8: Deadline to have attended a thesis/dissertation workshop or to have watched the webinar.

The 360° Critical Skills for Career Success program is on the move. We have launched our new Canvas community. All enrolled graduate students should have access here.

You can also navigate to your Canvas dashboard by going to All activity reporting, new activity petitions, and reflection questions should be submitted through the Canvas community.


BGSA Black Colloquium

The Black Colloquium is an event hosted by the Black Graduate Student Association on March 2 in the Student Union (Room 408) in order to give students, faculty, staff and the community the opportunity to participate in workshops that revolve around navigating the world while Black, with special emphasis on preventative health and the things that unite and divide the Black community.

Badge Literature Review Writing Workshop

February 20 at 4 p.m., February 21 at 5 p.m.; Edmon Low Rm 206

The literature review is often one of the most difficult genres and/or academic sections to compose in academic writing and scholarship. In this workshop, we will explore the rhetorical work literature reviews do, analyze and discuss samples, and share strategies for writing and revising our own literature reviews.

DOE Office of Science Graduate Research (SCGSR) Program

Deadline: May 9 (5 p.m.)

The Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program (SCGSR) is now accepting applications.

The goal of the SCGSR program is to prepare graduate students for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission, by providing graduate thesis research opportunities at DOE laboratories.

The SCGSR program provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to pursue part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE laboratory/facility in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission.

2018-2019 Phi Beta Delta Student Award

Deadline: February 28

The Epsilon Upsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Delta at Oklahoma State University offers several awards annually to support student international research presentations. Phi Beta Delta will reimburse up to $500 to each selected recipient for unreimbursed expenses associated with travel, accommodations and/or registration for presenting their research at either an international conference or a domestic conference at which international research is presented. Washington Center for Equitable Growth

The Washington Center for Equitable Growth supports social science research investigating whether and how inequality affects economic growth. The center is currently requesting proposals in the areas of macroeconomic policy, market structure, human capital, and the labor market.
