Awards
Annual Awards and Poster Gala
Each spring GPSGA awards one outstanding masters student, doctoral student, and faculty
member with the Phoenix Awards and one Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant at
the Graduate College Awards Ceremony. These awards are the highest honor within GPSGA,
and are given to individuals who exemplify achievement in leadership, scholarship,
community and university service, and professional involvement. Accompanying the awards
ceremony is GPSGA's annual poster gala and competition where students can present
their research to compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. More information will be posted
about the upcoming poster gala in the spring.
Individual Student Funds
Travel Assistance and Research Materials Grant
Students who are part of an academic department or student organization that has active
representation in GPSGA general assembly meetings can apply for the individual travel
assistance and research materials grants. Travel assistance is given to students who
are presenting research at a conference within Oklahoma, the US, or internationally.
The research materials grant is offered as a reimbursement for students who apply,
as funds are available.
Student Organization Funds
Co-Sponsorship and Group Funds
Student associations and organizations, as well as academic departments who have active
representation in GPSGA general assembly meetings are eligible to apply for group
funds and co-sponsorships funds. Group fund applications open each spring semester
and are meant to cover the organizations activity cost the following school year. Co-sponsorship
fund applications open each fall and spring semester and are intended to assist with
events hosted and sponsored by the group. Groups who hold events that are open to
the campus community are encouraged to share these details with GPSGA so they can
be promoted across campus.
GPSGA Community Outreach
Fundraising opportunity for the community
Each year, GPSGA hosts one or more fundraising events to raise money for a deserving
local organization in the greater campus community. If you would like to nominate
an organization to receive these funds, you may do so in the canvas community. In
addition, if you would like to coordinate a fundraiser, reach out to the officers
and share your idea.
