Please note: Below are important academic and graduation-related deadlines for graduate students during the Spring 2026 semester. Dates are listed in chronological order. Students are responsible for meeting all applicable deadlines.
Refer also to the University Academic Calendar for term dates, holidays, and other deadlines that apply to all students.
January
Monday, January 12
Class work begins.
Friday, January 30
Last day to submit the Admission to Doctoral Candidacy form to the Graduate College for Summer 2026 graduation.
March
Friday, March 6
Last day to attend the Thesis and Dissertation Formatting & Guide to Graduation session
or to view the online tutorial in GC Round-Up.
Friday, March 13
Last day to submit a revised Plan of Study (if required) to the Graduate College.
April
Wednesday, April 1
Last day to file a Graduation Application* with the Office of the Registrar.
Friday, April 10
Last day to submit the Thesis/Dissertation Oral Defense Form to the Graduate College
to meet Spring 2026 graduation deadlines.
Friday, April 17
Last day to submit the Thesis/Dissertation Document Approval Form to the Graduate
College.
Friday, April 24
Last day to complete online submission of the electronic thesis or dissertation to
the Graduate College.
May
Friday, May 1
Class work ends.
Friday, May 8
Term ends. Formal reports and creative components are due.
Friday, May 8
Graduate Commencement.
* The April 1 deadline is the last day to file for your name to appear in the Spring Commencement Book. The summer deadline applies to graduation clearance only.
Summer 2026
May
Monday, May 18
Class work begins.
June
Friday, June 5
Last day to submit the Admission to Doctoral Candidacy form to the Graduate College for Fall 2026 graduation.
Friday, June 5
Last day to attend the Thesis and Dissertation Formatting & Guide to Graduation review
session or to view the online tutorial in GC Round-Up.
Friday, June 19
Last day to submit a revised Plan of Study (if required) to the Graduate College.
July
Wednesday, July 1
Last day to file a Graduation Application* with the Office of the Registrar.
Friday, July 10
Last day to submit the Thesis/Dissertation Oral Defense Form to the Graduate College
to meet Summer 2026 graduation deadlines.

Last day to submit the Thesis/Dissertation Document Approval Form to the Graduate
College to meet Summer 2026 graduation deadlines.

Last day to complete online submission of the electronic thesis or dissertation to
the Graduate College.

Term ends. Formal reports and creative components are due.
August
Monday, August 3
Last day for doctoral students to complete requirements for admission to doctoral
candidacy and have the Admission to Doctoral Candidacy form approved by the dean of
the Graduate College. Approval by this date will allow for reduced continuous enrollment
(at least two credit hours) and full-time status for the Fall 2026 term.
* The July 1 deadline is the last day to file for your name to appear in the Fall and Spring Commencement Book. The summer deadline applies to graduation clearance only.
