The Graduate College Virtual Recruitment Fair is a little more than a month away (Friday, October 15th). If you have already registered for your program(s), below are a couple of next steps you can be taking to prepare for the event.

  1. Prepare for your program session. You will have 30 min for your program sessions (20 min presentation & 10 min Q&A). Graduate coordinators, faculty and students are welcomed to be a part of your presentation. Each program will give their presentation twice between 11:30-12:45 with 15 min break in between so that students who are interested in more than one program can be accommodated. Note, students will sign up at the time that they register so that you will know how many to expect.

Ideas for your presentation:

  • Short program overview and career opportunities
  • Admission requirements:
  • Degree requirements:
  • Research highlights
  • Student success stories

  1. Develop an invitation list. Start developing a list of prospective students or contacts at other institutions who you would like to invite. You can share your list of names and email addresses with us or contact these individuals directly yourself.  The Graduate College will be promoting the recruitment event more broadly, but an invitation from the program is often more impactful.

Ideas of ways to promote the event:

  • Social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram &Twitter)
  • Emails to your feeder schools
  • Reaching out to colleagues on campus

Once program registration closes, the Graduate College will provide a press kit for you to use to promote the event through emails and social media postings if you so choose. Beginning September 16th, students will be able to register for the event and select the program sessions that they want to attend. We will share the registration link with you as a part of the press kit so that you can distribute it to prospective students.

If you have not registered your program(s), it's not too late to register!

Deadline for program registration is September 15th.
