GPSGA Phoenix Awards
Awards Overview
The GPSGA Phoenix Awards represent the highest recognition bestowed by the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association (GPSGA) on Oklahoma State University graduate students and graduate faculty. These awards honor outstanding doctoral students, master’s students, and graduate faculty who demonstrate exemplary achievement in leadership, scholarship, community and university service, professional involvement, and mentorship within the OSU graduate community.

Doctoral Student Phoenix Award
The Doctoral Student Phoenix Award recognizes an exceptional doctoral student who demonstrates excellence in academic achievement, leadership, service, and professional engagement within the graduate student community.

Master’s Student Phoenix Award
The master’s Student Phoenix Award recognizes an outstanding master’s student who demonstrates excellence in leadership, scholarship, and service within the OSU graduate community.

Graduate Faculty Phoenix Award
The Graduate Faculty Phoenix Award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates excellence in mentoring and supporting graduate students through leadership, guidance, and meaningful engagement within the OSU graduate community.

Eligibility
- Must be enrolled as a master’s or doctoral student during the current academic year
- Must be within six credit hours of degree completion after the spring semester
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.5
- Open to nominations from faculty, administrators, or graduate students
- Self-nominations are allowed

Award Recognition
- Monetary award provided by GPSGA
- Recognition at the Graduate College Awards Ceremony
- Name is added to the Phoenix Awards plaque located outside the Graduate College

Nomination Process
A call for nominations is distributed through the Graduate College Monday Memo. Eligible nominees may be nominated by faculty members, administrators, or graduate students. Self-nominations are also accepted.
