INTERDISCIPLINARY TOXICOLOGY
"All substances are poisons: there is none which is not a poison. The right dose differentiates a poison and a remedy." - Paracelsus
About Us
Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemicals or substances on living
systems. It crosses a broad range of disciplines including biology, pharmacology,
chemistry and medicine. OSU offers a graduate certificate in Interdisciplinary Toxicology
Many students combine the graduate certificate in interdisciplinary toxicology (12
hrs) to further enhance their training.
Prospective Students
The ITP involves investigators from several departments and colleges (College of Veterinary
Medicine, Center for Health Sciences, and the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology, Chemical Engineering, Integrative Biology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Nutritional
Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, and Statistics) from both the Stillwater and Tulsa
campuses. Areas of expertise of participating faculty are broad and extend from molecular
to ecosystem to community approaches.
Current Students
Current students may find much of the information needed during their time as a graduate student in the Interdisciplinary
Toxicology program.
Fellowships & Awards
The Interdisciplinary Toxicology Program offers both fellowships and awards to graduate
students who have research focused on some aspect of toxicology.
